Top 15 Best Kenshi Mods to Play in 2021

Kenshi is a pretty niche and fun game. I don’t think there’s a lot of players that play Kenshi without mods, but I do think that because it’s already 2021, having mods that improve quality of life is a must.

Not a lot of people play Kenshi on the base version, but these mods will surely spice up your gameplay. So, without further adieu, here are the Top 15 Best Kenshi Mods to Play in 2021.

#15 Removed Weather Effects

Created by: Underfall

I probably will mention this a lot on this list, but Kenshi, in terms of graphical optimization, isn’t the best at it. Whenever it’s raining, you can expect that it’s raining hard on your GPU to load assets quickly. With this mod, it can pretty much solve your problem of getting rekt by the particle animations.

14 Fixing Clipping Issues Mod

Created by: timor1234

It can be pretty annoying to have your full swag on your outfit, only to be ruined by the clipping animations from armor and undergarment layering. With this mod, you can basically fix everything in one go.

#13 Let’s talk Mod

Created by: BigBizkit

I’m pretty sure this thing is unique to Kenshi, but there’s only a couple of words that some NPC will speak and it will not happen ever again in the vanilla version. If you missed, say, a quest, you’ll never be able to know some clues that might lead up to that said quest, which sucks.

This mod changes everything and allows the NPCs to talk more often and engage with you as long as they’re permitted to do so by the script.

#12 Advanced Character Creation Mod

Created by: Seelenschwarz

Pretty straightforward as it is. This mod adds new facial textures on each race and character in the game.

There are also various eye colors added to the mod, including the subraces. The vanilla custom feature didn’t include the eyes, just to make sure that everything is in uniform and there are no actual bugs that will be encountered along the way.

#11 Enhanced Shopping Economy

Created by: BigBizkit

A balancing mod that allows you to get a fairer in-game economy, making the in-town shopkeeping more profitable, fun, and interesting.

There are also weapons and armors that are included in this list.

#10 More Faces Plus

Created by: Seelenschwarz

This mod adds a wide variety of available faces to play with. Although most of the time you’ll be wearing headgears, I don’t think you’re losing that much if you get this mod. It’s all about that swag, baby.

More Faces Plus adds over 200+ male and female faces, customizable eye colors, scars, and many more visual changes.

#9 Tsuki Mod

Created by: sweeturns

Basically, it’s a visual enhancing mod that allows you to have many of the pre-configured vanilla effects, but you’re able to control when and where they’re available.

#8 Nice Map Mod

Created by: JustCallMeG

This mod is all about visual stuff. Basically, you’ll get a better map layout, zone outlines, better zone names, roads, grid, and topographic maps. A pretty simple world map texture mod that changes everything for the better.

#7 256 Recruit and Squad Mod

Created by: Falloutmon

A pretty simple mod that allows you to get over the allowable number of units available to recruit. Although the number can go up to 256, it’s still buggy and maybe you can only get up to 100 units without going into some problems.

#6 Texture Options

Created by: Ashlander001

It’s pretty well-known already how Kenshi isn’t as optimized as any other game. Texture options allow you to play the game at a higher FPS and better overall game optimization and fewer lags.

#5 Dark UI

This UI mod changes your game’s HUD and general UI into something sleek and favorable to the eyes.

#4 General Modifications

Created by: Seelenschawrz

A balancing mod that allows you to have multiple items and added features. For example, clothes have innate stats, food and medicines are stackable items, the backpack has been expanded with a large inventory size, and so much more.

It’s a really good mod and doesn’t bring anything overpowered to the table, where you can enjoy being in vanilla with some additional content.

#3 Reactive World Mod

Created by: Shindan174

A pretty damn good mod that ACTUALLY allows you to go full-on genocide with a particular tribe of your choosing. It’s also filling out the areas and the gaps that devs didn’t fix or left hanging in the game. The world reacts to how you go on with your life in the wasteland. Be it in a negative or positive light.

#2 Stackable Items Mod

Created by: Katabug

A pretty nice QoL mod that allows you to stack up items. It kills the immersion, but who cares about immersion if you can’t get all the items more than what you can carry.

#1 Less Foliage and Rocks Mod

Created by: Ashlander001

Honestly, Kenshi isn’t the best in terms of graphics. It’s not as optimized as most games, so having this mod installed will definitely improve the quality of life of your GPU and yourself.
