Most gamers worry that they’ll gain weight if they sit all day gaming. But for Blade & Sorcery fans, that’s not the case. Blade & Sorcery is a medieval themed sandbox game built exclusively for VR that focuses on melee, ranged, and magic combat based on actual physical movements.

In fact, it is one of the most physically exhausting games since you will have to physically act out all the famous battles and try out the different weapons that you’ve only read about in history books. You get to choose the weapons, stance, style, and become a powerful ranger, warrior, or sorcerer, whatever you want!

Although it’s a singleplayer game, there are some Blade & Sorcery multiplayer mods that make it possible for you to indulge in the battles with your mates. So let’s take a look at these mods, shall we?

1. Johnny’s Multiplayer Beta

Johnny’s Multiplayer Beta is a Blade and Sorcery multiplayer mod developed by JohnnyJohnnyBS solely for fun. It allows you to play Blade & Sorcery multiplayer with your friends in VR. Now that’s awesome, right?

But wait, don’t get too excited! This mod is solely designed for fun and not for realistic combat. So if you are in the mood to just fool around with your friends and not engage in any combat, you can play hide and seek or just play jokes with your friends in the game, without murdering them in a combat.

Features

  • The player head (a banana) and the hand (a black ball) are synced for all players.
  • Complete syncing of full host and client items.
  • Slight PvP damage to players if the items have enough velocity.

Check out the mod’s Nexus page to see how you can start the server through the game.

2. Local Multiplayer

The Local Multiplayer mod by kingo64 is yet another Blade and Sorcery multiplayer mod that adds local multiplayer support. This mod allows a PC player to possess NPCs and control them using your mouse and keyboard.

If a PC player wants to control the NPC, they will have to be in the Spectate Mode (F3). You can hijack the NPCs in this mode by pressing the ‘X’ key. When you do so, you will come across an alive NPC that you can control.

By default, the NPCs will lock onto other players when they are attacking or being controlled by the AI. You can disengage them by pressing the middle mouse button. Press the Tab button to lock them onto your closest enemy.

You can enjoy both the first person view and the third person view of the NPCs. Press the T key to switch between the two modes.

Moreover, while the VR player is in the Spectate Mode, they won’t be able to use their pointer or any books. You can change this by swapping to HMD Output (F1) or Player View (F2) to give them access again.
