Skyrim is more than a decade old game that looks surprisingly subpar in first-person. The vanilla first-person perspective in Skyrim could use major improvements, both visual and mechanical.
But as you can expect from Skyrim’s modding community, there are already tonnes of first person mods focused on the third-person view in game. Many modders have developed all new first-person mods or made tweaks to the existing first-person view in game to improve your first-person experience.
So we decided to bring all of these first person mods together and create a list of the best mods for you.
Here’s a list of the best Skyrim and Skyrim SE first person mods for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
1. Immersive First Person View
The Immersive First Person View mod is a Skyrim first person mod that allows you to see your body when you are in the first-person view. The mod also adds a first person view for things that you can’t experience in this POV, such as for Horse, Vampire Lord, Crafting, Werewolf, and any other situation where you usually exit the first person view.
2. Skyrim – Enhanced Camera
This Enhanced Camera mod lets you see your visible body while experiencing the vanilla first person experience. The mod also switches all the situations that are in third-person into the first-person mode, such as when you are sitting, riding, crafting, a werewolf, or in other situations.
The mod basically maintains a hybrid mode where you can view both the first person and the third person bodies. This “Enhanced Camera” experience is only compatible if you have disbaled the visible body in the ini.
You can download the Enhanced Camera mod for Skyrim on PC.
3. RBE’s Enhanced 1st Person Camera Bob
This mod adds an enhanced and bigger camera bob to the first person view to make your experiences more immersive. This Camera bobbing will be visible whenever your character is walking, running, or sneaking.
4. First Person Camera Sway – Idle
This mod alters the first person idle animations and adds a little sway to your character’s camera while you are in the first person mode. This mod is also compatible with RBE’s Enhanced 1st Person Camera Bob.
5. Joy Of Perspective
The Joy of Perspective is a mod that completely overhauls Skyrim’s first person mode to add a visible body and more immersive and realistic animations. Your body will be visible in first person and you will also have new first person animations with more realistic third person animations. The mod also comes with an alternate set of combat animations.
6. First Person Combat Animations Overhaul 2.0 -SIZE MATTERS
This is a first person mod that adds more than 60 new animations to improve your first person combat experience. There are all new animations for daggers and katana style weapons. The mod also brings new block bashes and new idles. So you can now actually swing weapons like a real demi-god.
Unfortunately, there are no first person mods for Skyrim on PS4 as they require DLL or new mesh assets, which are not possible to get on PS4.
